Why City Leaders Collective?

In today’s context, we strongly believe that the city Church must unite and collaborate more than ever before.

Cities are Growing
Exponentially

Today 58% of the world’s population live in cities. Each week 3 million people move from rural areas to the cities of the world. We are experiencing the greatest migration in human history Cities are the greatest missiological opportunity for the Church.

The Church is
Divided & Declining

The division and fragmentation of the Church of Jesus is the greatest barrier to the accomplishing of Christ’s mission in the world. Our model helps the Church in cities operate in the unity that our Lord Jesus both prayed for and commanded in the upper room.

City Networks
Want to Happen

It’s easier to catch a wave than it is to create a wave. The demand for connection, heightened collaboration, coaching and essential tools for this work has never been greater. This is why we curate & create content, research effective strategies, facilitate coaching and community for city network leaders.

“Being a city movement leader is a strange vocation — it relies heavily on calling and can often feel like herding wet cats in a minefield. In a world where you constantly feel like you’re pushing a rock uphill on slippery pavement, CLC has become one of the primary life-giving outlets of relational connection, camaraderie, and continual education in city movement best-practices in a peer-to-peer learning environment.”

Eddie Copeland

Executive Director – Church United, South Florida

“I can trace Unite’s growth year-by-year based on the content I’ve taken away from our annual CLC retreats. The beautiful, serene setting is refreshing to my soul, and I’m also deeply grateful for the lifelong friendships with peers and mentors. I never feel alone in this work thanks to this community.”

Rebecca Walls

Executive Director – Unite, Dallas, TX

“The insight gained from attending the CLC gathering for city leaders in the last three years is significant. The leaders, guest presenters, and the network provided critical insights to move forward the city network I lead, Love KC. The attendees are situational experts, and they make their knowledge and support available throughout the year. The monthly calls refresh our learnings with new examples of what’s working. I’m inspired and challenged by being a part of this valuable network. “

Gary Kendall

Executive Director/Catalyst – Love KC, Kansas City, KC

“I can’t say enough good things about my experience with CLC. Eric has been a mentor for almost 20 years and I owe so much of the work we’ve done in Long Beach to the ideas and people he’s introduced me to. Eric is world-class connector and cheerleader, but the addition of Rob Kelly has formalized this critical work from a loose club to a strategic network. Rob is one of the smartest people I’ve ever met; his systematic way of capturing the art and science of ‘city reaching’ has given our Long Beach team common language and focus.”

Eric Marsh

Executive Director – Church Collective, Long Beach, CA

“With hundreds of cities around the world developing their own City Networks. City Leaders Collective plays a powerful role in helping launch and resource these networks. Those of us that long to see more people find Christ, to see needs met, and to see a more united Church should invest our time and resources into City Leaders Collective.”

Kevin Palau

President – LP Association, Portland, OR

“City Leaders Collective is a tangible answer to Jesus’ prayer for the unity of his church.”

Dr. Leighton Ford

Founding Chairman – Lausanne Movement

“Every time I’ve joined a monthly call I’ve been introduced to leaders, strategies, theology and ideas that I can seriously consider employing in our city within the network we serve here in Ottawa.  In getting to know the team, I can tell they’re as eager to learn as they are to share and teach.”

Mark Peterkins

Executive Director – One Way Ministries, Ottawa, Canada

“The consistent and purposeful investment of numerous thought leaders and practitioners who make up CLC saved me years of misguided efforts, accelerated my understanding of the key ingredients for leading a city network and provided the necessary coaching and encouragement to help my team succeed in helping our city succeed.”

Jed Mullenix

CEO – Within Reach, Omaha, NE

“My connection to the CLC experience has been invaluable in several ways. First, the relational connection to other leaders and organizations doing amazing work has given me access to ideas, expertise, and processes that would have taken me years to figure out on my own. Most importantly, though, the encouragement I receive from Christ-centered leaders who love their cities and see a vision for greater days ahead inspires me to stay in the work, even when I feel alone.”

Stu Davis

Executive Director – COSILOVEYOU, Colorado Springs, CO

“Out of all the professional development I participate in, the City Leaders Collective group has provided the most impactful development experience personally and professionally. The monthly calls and retreats have brought insightful content, meaningful connections, and the inspiration to continue uniting the church of Wilmington, NC for transformation. Thanks to the strategic planning exercise using the “4 Greats Outline”:  collaboration, commandment, compassion, and commission, our organization has greater clarity, language, and vision. I honestly cannot imagine doing this work without this group.”

Emma Baltezore

CEO, ONE Christian Network, Wilmington, NC

“Imagine getting to learn, grow, and innovate with a team of colleagues and friends pursuing the same exciting vision in cities all over the world. That’s the dynamic that has made City Leaders Collective an indispensable part of my journey as a leader.”

Jonathan Boetcher

Executive Director, For Evansville, Evansville, IN

“I have greatly benefited from City Leaders Collective over the past five years. The annual leadership retreats are rejuvenating and help with strategic planning. The immediate bond among attendees creates a supportive environment. CLC always rewards us by introducing the group to remarkable leaders in diverse industries that speak creativity into City Gospel movements from around the world.”
